HOPE CITY MUSIC

We’re excited to announce Hope City Worship Team auditions! If you’re interested in joining, please submit a video of yourself singing or playing one of the selected songs below and email it to info@hopecitymeridian.church. Singers, please include both the lead and a harmony part in your submission. At Hope City, we value excellence in your craft, but above all, we cherish a heart of worship. More than just music, we are lifting up our incense to the King, and we’re looking for team members who are passionate about worshiping God and leading others into His presence.

THE PROCESS

Be a committed and active member of Hope City Church for a minimum of 6 months, serving in other areas within the church.
Be willing to serve in other worship capacities (i.e. youth, kids, Housefires), not just Sunday services.
Commit to joining a bi-monthly Housefires small group if you are not already a part of one.

REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to lead from an acoustic guitar or keyboard.
- Ability to play/sing with a click.
- Must be able to hear and sing both high and low harmonies by ear.
- Have a great sensitivity to timing (understanding when to sing and when not to sing).
- Ability to sing with a click.
- Must be able to play using a chord chart.
- Must be able to play in all keys and transpose (without a transpose button on piano), or be working toward that level of skill.
- Sensitivity to the Spirit and ability to spontaneously flow with the worship leader and team.
- Ability to play with a click.
- Keys: Ability to play pads and keys, not classical only.
- Drums: Must be able to play well with a click track.
- Electric Guitar: Ability to play lead lines, parts, rhythm and fill space within spontaneous flow.
- Bass: Ability to “lock in” with the drummer and not overplay.
- Strings: Ability to play in a prayer room or on a worship team. Ability to play lead lines and fill space with good tone.

EXPECTATIONS

We expect all applicants to be active members of Hope City Church for at least six months before auditioning.
All potential worship team members must pass a video audition and a possible live audition in order to serve in Hope City Music.
Commit to serving diligently in Hope City Music as well as continuing to be a faithful and active participant in the church as a whole.
Be willing to receive instruction with a desire for growth and willingness to be encouraged and even corrected for the purpose of training.
Complete any designated training assignments given by Hope City Staff or Worship leader in a timely manner.
Demonstrate a high level of humility, integrity, and accountability. (No current life controlling issues, addictions, immorality, rebellion, etc.) Attitudes matter to us more than anything. If you cannot serve humbly and submit to leadership, please do not audition.
Must be willing to arrive by 8 AM on scheduled services and 1-2 hour before special events.

INSTRUCTIONS

For Musicians (drums, electric guitar, keys or bass), choose one of the following songs below, learn your part instrumentally, and record a video of yourself playing along with the recording. For guitarists and bassists, please show us your pedal-board in the video.

For Singers, record yourself singing along with one of the following songs below. Sing melody on the verses and harmony on the chorus and bridge.

For Worship Leaders, record yourself leading one of the following songs. Leading includes singing and playing your instrument or singing while someone else accompanies.
